Get Whynote ready before the call
Meeting recording on Mac needs your microphone for your voice and system-audio access for the other participants. Choose the devices you intend to use and record a short test with both sides audible. Agree on recording with the participants before the meeting.
The Mac setup guide covers the permissions and recording workflow. The Zoom and Google Meet guides below apply it to those calls. Whynote keeps the spoken conversation in this workflow, rather than a video of the meeting.
If a test file loses one side, use the missing-audio recording checks. For a presentation, follow the separate webinar audio and notes workflow.
Keep the recording and notes together
Record the conversation in Whynote and add your own observations when they are useful. After the meeting, transcribe the audio and check unclear passages before writing the follow-up. You can revisit the recording when a name or commitment needs another listen.
If the meeting has already been recorded, import the file on Mac instead. On iPhone, you can import saved audio or record your own recap after the call. The iPhone app does not capture the system audio of other calling apps.
For Teams recording on Mac, check the devices in Teams and Whynote separately. Once the transcript is ready, prepare a meeting follow-up email and review it before sharing.
Share the decisions your team needs
Use the free Word and text template to collect agreed decisions and actions. Give an action its actual owner and due date, and leave unresolved details open. Someone who missed the meeting should be able to see what happens next.
Pro summaries can help you prepare a draft from the transcript. Read it against the conversation before sending, so proposals remain proposals and conditions remain visible. For more work with saved recordings, browse the transcription guides.
For a short message to your team, start with the meeting summary guide. It covers the Whynote output styles and checking the draft before sharing.
When everyone has the context, move confirmed actions into the meeting action items template. It keeps the owner, due date and expected outcome visible.
